There is one word about Padang today. Crowded. I remember, when i rode along Gunung Pangilun Road to my office at the Proklamasi Road, 3 months ago, this road was not as crowded as now. I was riding comfortably. I could saw the pedestrian, old trees along Jati Road and enjoy the music which played in my mind.
But now, i can not do those things anymore. Numbers of motorcycle on the road increase significantly today. People in Padang seems buy motorcycle everyday. It is not because the motorcycle price is getting much cheaper nowadays but the procedure to have it becomes easier.
If you have 500,000 rupiahs you can use it as the down payment for your motorcycle. The monthly payment for the motorcycle is counted almost the same as the monthly fare for public transport.
Then, another problem occurs. Road becomes busier, more crowded and more polluted. And more….dangerous. I have seen 3 accidents for 2 days. one of the accident happened to me.
I think it’s time for us to solve the problem. Because this is our responsibility, to make our environment, become a comfortable place.
